Tait Technologies expansion on track with activation of rental division as of October 31st

Stage News Published: 27 October 2010
Tait Technologies, the joint venture between Tait Towers and Frederic Opsomer’s System Technologies’ team – is well on its way to consolidating the launch of the company in early 2010 with the activation of its rental division as of October 31st. Heading up the new division will be Dirk DHulster, an industrial engineer with over twenty years experience in the visualisation industry.

Says CEO Frederic Opsomer: “The activation of our rental division is another milestone in the deployment of Tait Technologies’ full range of activities throughout Europe.”

Headquartered in Belgium, Tait Technologies offers clients in the entertainment, corporate and architectural markets solutions ranging from the rental of ‘off-the-shelf’ stage products to the design and development of custom-made, project-specific innovations. Over the past months, Tait Technologies has brought a substantial part of Tait Towers’ renowned rental fleet to Europe, where it will be housed for use in European projects.

“Tait Towers is excited about the operation in Europe. Frederic has organized a great team in Belgium who have become quite familiar with our system over the past few months. We will have a wide variety of products in stock to help solve the problems of various productions. The European operation will have the full support of all of our resources here in Lititz”, says James Fairorth, CEO of Tait Towers.

The Europe-based rental fleet adheres to the strict quality control Tait Towers is renowned for in the industry. Tait staging, rigging and automation components are designed and manufactured to allow for maximum cost reduction over the duration of a tour. They are also always impeccably maintained and serviced and are ready to ship at a moment’s notice.

“Tait stages are very popular in the entertainment industry. They offer a very specific way of building a stage that makes them space saving, reliable, easier and faster to build. Until now, if they were specced for international or European projects, they had to be flown in from the US. Now they will be housed here permanently, ready to go at a moment’s notice, and that means a significant cost saving in terms of transport and shipping”, says Dhulster.

Since its launch in January 2010, Tait Technologies has already been able to secure several high-profile creative projects that perfectly illustrate the company’s strengths in the video-scenic convergence realm, from the latest tours for Bon Jovi and A-Ha to the upcoming shows for Roger Waters and Christopher May. Bon Jovi’s The Circle tour clearly illustrates Tait Technologies’ breadth of experience and technical know-how: the company provided consultation, sourcing, speccing, manufacturing and integration of the video solution into a mechanical solution suitable for touring.
