New video tool for the
grandMA range
Lighting

Integrated video and lighting control via a single centralized
console is becoming prevalent in many show applications. Addressing
this development, MA Lighting has released a new media server
application for all grandMA consoles: grandMA video. This
new tool enables the control, animation, and access of videos,
special textures, graphics and 3D objects in real time. All
these (media) objects can be seen directly in the preset of
the grandMA console; they can easily be integrated into the
show and controlled on any parameter from the console. The
programming is as intuitive as controlling a moving light
from the desk.
The new software is specifically for use with
grandMA consoles and is designed to run on an off-the-shelf
PC. It is fully integrated in the MA network protocol. This
enables bi-directional data transfer between the console and
the PC, as both are using the same pool of data. The result
is easy installation and configuration and guaranteed intuitive
operation.
With the introduction of grandMA video, MA Lighting once again
breaks new ground by offering a unique software product intentionally
delivered without hardware. MA Lighting has taken into consideration
the different standards on the market and created a tool that
can be used in a most flexible manner: as “digital fixture”
or “media player” for small projections of logos,
or for sophisticated, multi-layered projections in broadcast
quality (PAL) or XGA resolution (1.024 x 768 Pixel). In total
six layers – equal for all contents - can be used in
parallel and real-time control. In contrast to other media
servers, grandMA video allows any kind of 3D objects to be
textured with animated projections.
grandMA video will be delivered with an extensive
media library of hundreds of video sequences, video loops,
seamless textures, 3D objects and graphics, as well as more
than 1000 licensed, high-resolution gobo designs. Of course,
the ability to import video and static files in common formats
is possible.
grandMA video will be available in Spring 2005.
