Sound
Projects installed
in Kam Kong church

Hong Kong based SOUND PROJECTS agent Shalom AV Technology Ltd.
delivered and installed the audio system for the Kam Kong Christian
church, located at the northern part of Hong Kong. The building,
which used to be a cinema, houses about 1200 people. Rossini
Lo, project designer at Shalom AV, was responsible for the audio
system design.
Besides excellent speech reproduction the audio
system reinforces the worship band. The band is very dynamic
and performs both mellow and upbeat music, while the whole church
congregation sings along. The worship band includes standard
drum set, bass guitar, guitars, keyboards and around eight vocal
singers.
With the choice for a Sound Projects sound system,
the church met its high criteria. Important of course was very
clear speech (even under loud worship music) with high intelligibility
and low noise. Minimal deviations in SPL throughout the audience
guarantee immaculate intelligibility and reproduction of very
soft prayer to loud, upbeat gospel music.
The specified system contains the following self
powered cabinets:
2 x SP-4 Diamond as main Left / Right speaker
2 x SP-4-15 as subwoofer
2 x SP-2 as centre cluster speaker
4 x SP-2 as rear delay speaker
Rossini Lo also reported another Sound Projects
installation in a smaller church (450 people) in Hong Kong.
Here the installation consisted of a set of SP-2 cabinets in
matching white finish. The SP-4-15 subwoofers will fill the
church with the lowest notes down to the lowest fundamental
of the church organ (32 Hz). The church is going to produce
24 bit recording CDs.
