Meyer Sound will hold an open house demo of the new MILO high-power
curvilinear array system on July 17 – 19, coinciding with
the annual NAMM Summer Session in Nashville. The three 8-hour
sessions will allow ample time for each guest to experience
the latest advancements in self-powered tour sound technology
in a casual setting. The hands-on sessions are free and open
to all sound industry professionals, including any NAMM attendees.
The open house will be held in the spacious Soundcheck
rehearsal facility, located at 750 Cowan Street in Nashville.
Hours are 10 am to 6 pm on Thursday, and noon to 8 pm on Friday
and Saturday. Refreshments will be served throughout, and as
there is no set program, those attending may come and go as
they wish.
The open house will feature a working array of
MILO cabinets and M3D-Sub directional subwoofers scaled to the
size of Soundcheck’s Room A, their largest rehearsal room.
Meyer Sound’s tour sound liaison, Buford Jones, will host
the event along with Greg McVeigh, director of US sales, and
Rick Coleman, southeastern regional sales manager.
“This open house is an opportunity for people
in the industry to have some hands-on time with MILO,”
says Jones. “They can listen to playbacks of any music
they want to bring along, and do some tweaking to see how it
responds. We will also pull the system down and put it back
up a few times to demonstrate the ease and flexibility of the
QuickFly rigging system.”
As an added inducement to attend the open house,
DigiCo will provide one of its new D5 Live consoles for use
during the demonstration sessions.
By coincidence, another MILO system will be up
and running in Nashville on the night of July 17, as the Norah
Jones tour makes a stop at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s
Jackson Hall. However, most people who wish to hear MILO will
have to plan on attending the open house, as the Norah Jones
concert is sold out.
